The Lawrence House Centre for the Arts is proud and pleased to announce that TransAlta has generously donated $2500 towards our ongoing program, The Garbage Can Connection, a collaborative venture between the LHCA, The Pathways Health Centre for Children and The City of Sarnia. This art program provides children with disabilities the opportunity to create colourful works of art on city garbage cans to be distributed throughout the parks in our community. The Lawrence House Centre for the Arts is most grateful for TransAlta's commitment to The Garbage Can Connection community's youth and looks forward to a continued relationship with our newest Community Partner!

In response to the latest dumping of snow earlier this week, Spoken Word plans to prevent winter blues from settling in by welcoming the arrival of spring, with poems and tales of birds and flowers, lions and lambs, and anything spring. Join us for an informal, festive evening of storytelling, poetry reading, and humour by professional and amateur writers, poets, and storytellers. Share your own work, read the work of your favorite writer, or just sit back and enjoy this open mic event scheduled for the last Friday of every month except December, July and August. Start time: 8 p.m. Hosted by two local writers: Debbie Okun Hill (vice-president, The Ontario Poetry Society) and Ryan Gibbs (English professor, Lambton College). No pre-registration required. Everyone welcome. For further information, e-mail spoken-w@hotmail.com or call The Lawrence House (519) 337-0507.

It’s not too late!Book those funny-bones into the Imperial Theatre for a load of laughs with Sarnia’s own John Wing!
