Ole! Shouts of affirmation and encouragement resound as Flamenco, the passionate music and dance of Spain, is performed. Compañeros de Flamenco is an ensemble of dancers and musicians that bring this vibrant culture to life. The colorful costumes, the compelling guitar music, and the intricate footwork tell the story of Spain's multicultural heritage. The strong influences of the Gypsy, African, and Hebrew cultures are evident in dances like the Rumbilla, Siguiriyas, Hombre del Compo, Bulerias, and Farruca. Compañeros de Flamenco's mix of singing and dancing to the music of the guitar is a first for this concert series.
